General Summary As an experienced Carbon Advisory Analyst reporting to the Senior Director of Advisory Services, your core focus will be the technical implementation on a range of projects. The projects you will participate in are supporting the increased environmental ambition of a variety of companies or other institutions. You will play a key role in ensuring the quality and integrity of environmental strategies, greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory calculations and feasibility assessments for carbon offset project eligibility, amongst other duties. This role will allow you to take on significant responsibility supporting large-scale projects within a supportive and collaborative team environment.

Primary Responsibilities and Competencies*:

  • Quantifying GHG inventories and product life cycle carbon emissions
  • Completing technical feasibility studies for new technologies under existing carbon offset development systems
  • Researching environmental technologies and clearly communicating results in multiple formats, memos, formal written reports and verbally though PowerPoint presentations
  • Assessing markets to help clients understand opportunities and challenges in specific carbon markets
  • Supporting the development of proposals and market materials
  • Compiling applications for relevant project awards, funding and conferences
  • Assisting with the calculation of carbon intensities for renewable natural gas
  • Organizing and attending relevant client meetings and events
  • Contributing to a positive and enthusiastic team/office culture

Required Education, Experience and Certification:

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree required
  • 2-4 years of experience related to climate, carbon accounting or energy
  • Familiarity with greenhouse gas accounting
  • Familiarity with environmental markets

Skills:

  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • A great attitude, passion for the environment/climate change and making a difference
  • Ability to research and quickly understand new topics
  • A high level of numeracy and comfort understanding data, with strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to juggle and balance competing priorities and deliverables
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills
