General Summary:

The Sr. Director of RECs for Portfolio is responsible for managing the existing portfolio of Renewable Energy Certificate clients of the company and will work to expand the company’s relationships and success in the environmental commodity marketplace. The Sr. Director of RECs will lead the growth of the business by establishing market strategy, leading origination, asset management, and account management.

Primary Responsibilities and Competencies*:

  • Manage Anew's portfolio of US-based Renewable Energy Certificates
  • Provide asset management service to clients
  • Responsible for developing market strategy
  • Act as originator and account manager for all REC business. Secure strategic partnerships
  • Build and lead REC Origination team
  • Provide expertise regarding compliance and voluntary REC markets, ensuring key stakeholders are aware of all new and existing rules and regulations
  • Act as Anew's primary REC trader
  • Interface and coordinate with carbon desk on providing RECs and carbon offsets to clients
  • Identify and lead investment opportunities in both renewable energy credit positions as well as project investments

Required Education, Experience and Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of experience in REC trading or analytics required
  • Experienced in sales and client management
  • Successful project/task management track record
  • Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Houston area
  • Expert with commercial frameworks
  • Ability to communicate analytical data and technical information into layman’s terms
  • Successful project/task management track record
  • Strong skills and proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States

Preferred Education, Qualifications & Experience:

  • Data analysis/visualization experience is highly preferred 
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory environmental policies and markets

Skills:

  • Strong skills and proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Attention to detail is a must
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
