An increasing number of corporate buyers are turning to net zero and carbon neutrality goals as the climate crisis worsens and stakeholders demand action. Emerging net zero guidance from the Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) and Voluntary Carbon Markets Initiative (VCMI) creates seemingly different pathways to achieving net zero with offsets from projects that reduce emissions and projects that remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
